The public is invited to walk the grounds and visit the Visitor’s Center of the newly renovated Oakland California Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 4770 Lincoln Avenue, Oakland, California.
The Oakland Temple Rededication will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2019. There will be three dedicatory sessions: 9:00am, 12:00 noon, 3:00pm. All three sessions will be broadcast to stake centers within the 31 stakes of the Oakland Temple District. These sessions will be an extension of the Oakland Temple, and as a result, only members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with a temple recommend will be admitted into the building. Children younger than 8 years old, including babies, will not be admitted.
Three types of recommends will be allowed: normal temple recommends, limited use recommends, and special one-day temple recommends issued by the Bishopric. If you need a rededication recommend, please see a member of your Bishopric. Also, please bring a white handkerchief for every member of your family who will be attending. They will be used during the Hosanna Shout during the dedicatory session.
Come see how members in the Bay Area are preparing for the temple rededication and open houses. Participate in activities like the temple mosaic, art exhibit, and monthly fireside events.
