Because we cannot accommodate Leaders & Parents dropping off the youth to participate on Temple Hill or to provide parking for all, we have made five (5) nearby Ward Buildings available to watch the broadcast and park during the Youth Devotional. We urge each Stake to review their assigned location and provide the maps per the attachments to your Leaders & Parents dropping off the Youth so they are afforded the opportunity to participate:
ALAMEDA (1201 Grand Street): Manteca https://goo.gl/maps/RTj8m8BEm2nBVVmP7
SAN LORENZO (859 Grant Avenue): Modesto, Modesto North, Monterey, Morgan Hill, Oakland, San Francisco East, San Francisco, San Leandro, San Mateo, Saratoga, Fremont https://goo.gl/maps/7GDhizrhj6Az7G9Q7
For those Stakes coming to the Temple by bus, please share the attached Bus route map with your bus drivers as most will enter Lot B from the back entrance (4320 Coolidge Ave., Oakland, CA 94602.). We would also ask that each bus have a label with the name of the Stake in the front window when they arrive. For ease of flow, we suggest the buses do not take Highway 13 but instead Interstate 580. From the south traveling north on I-580, it appears Exit 24 “Coolidge Ave. Fruitvale” would be best to access Lincoln Avenue traveling east. From the north traveling south on I-580, it appears Exit 23 “Fruitvale Avenue” would be best to access Lincoln Avenue traveling east. Our records show that San Rafael is bringing one (1) bus and Santa Rosa three (3). To accommodate them as a group, we ask that they park along Lincoln Avenue heading east as indicated on the attached “Temple Youth Event Charter Bus Route.” All other buses will follow the red dotted line following the directions turning on to Alida Street and making their way to Coolidge Avenue and to lower parking lot B on the temple grounds. At the end of the Youth Devotional, the buses on Lincoln can continue on east and access Highway 13. The buses in lower parking lot B will be directed to follow the parking guides out to Maiden Lane, Lincoln Avenue and then Highway 13.
Again, please follow the above assignments so all are able to park and watch the devotional as well as drop-off and pick-up youth with as little traffic congestion as possible. While this plan will help alleviate traffic congestion, it will not eliminate it, so please remind all those driving to the Temple to have an added measure of patience with each other so the spirit felt by the youth may linger with them.
We appreciate all your efforts on behalf of your youth and anticipate this to be a marvelous event for each one that is able to attend on Temple Hill.
